Founder & CEO, Autopaid Limited
Female Entrepreneurs Panel
Nicola began her career in finance, specialising in lending risk and operations.
Working at Five Arrows, a Rothschilds-owned business, she quickly established her niche. The business was acquired in 2008 by GE Capital.
A single mum at the time, at GE Capital Nicola led a nationwide team providing support to a large client-base, with a loan book of over £300million.
In 2016 Nicola was made redundant whilst on maternity leave, which was to prove pivotal in her drive to becoming an entrepreneur.
Choosing a start-up in favour of returning to her corporate life, in 2017 Nicola joined a Manchester-based fintech business helping SMEs get paid quickly, DueCourse, as Head of Risk.
Nicola’s determination to support SMEs and to solve their constant worry about being paid for work they had invoiced grew.
As a consequence, when the opportunity came in late 2017, Nicola became sole-founder and CEO of Autopaid, a follow-on business, where Nicola created the structures and products to develop the business further.
Now fully operational, Nicola is busy accelerating the growth of Autopaid from its Manchester base.
Away from the office, Nicola is a mum of three and is a regular speaker
